LSC Powerboat (used for Safety/Coach/Mark-set) Training
About this event
“Back by popular demand”, Power Squadron and Lansing Sailing Club is sponsoring another introduction orientation , and safe boating session with power boats. This powerboat introduction is for any Club Member or Racing Teams parents that wants to hone their existing boat driving experience as well as those with no experience at the helm.
This offering will have important information regarding prepping a Safety boat, starting procedures, leaving the lift or dock, right of way considerations on the water, boat handling, returning to the lift or dock and proper shut down and storage procedures.
These skills will be invaluable when each member performs their required Race Committee Duty. (Sign up for a RC date before one gets assigned.) It is also a good skill for parents spectating or volunteering at Fall and Spring Racing Team practices or regattas - even if you don’t actively drive a boat, knowing what to do in an emergency is helpful.
Each Safety boat will have an experienced Power Boat person to expedite orientation driving skills and to direct all safe operation of each club power boat on the waters of Beautiful Lake Lansing.
RSVP here or via text so we can have the proper number of boats on scene - 517-974-3549
See you on the water…..
